The "Austrian Riviera" in the most southern province of Austria will surprise you with its impressive castles and countless architectural sights, sleepy villages and charming towns, beautiful lakes and an unique landscape.

TOUR PROFILE:
Some uphill climbs, hilly area; you bike on side roads (sometimes a little traffic) and cycle paths.

ROUTE:
Nearest Airport: Klagenfurt, Salzburg
Day 1: Villach   Individual arrival.
Day 2: Villach - Lake Faaker See - Villach  (approx. 50km/31 miles)
Along the Villach Alps you cycle to Arnoldstein. The route continues to Faak with its warm lake and returns to Villach.
Day 3: Trip around Lake Ossiacher See (approx. 50 km/31 miles)
The first destination is the imposing fortress of Landskron. Continuing, you reach lake Ossiacher See and return to Villach.
Day 4: Villach - Klagenfurt (approx. 55 km/34 miles)
Leaving Villach you pass the famous lake Wörther See with its well known villages, Velden and Pörtschach and reach Carinthia´s capital Klagenfurt.
Day 5: Klagenfurt - Lake Klopeiner See (approx. 40 km/25 miles)
Today´s destination is Austria´s warmest lake, lake Klopeiner See.
Day 6: Lake Klopeiner See - St. Veit an der Glan/surroundings (approx. 60 km/38 miles)
You reach one of the highlights of this tour, the impressive fortress of Hochosterwitz which is close to your destination St. Veit.
Day 7: St. Veit an der Glan/surroundings - Villach (approx. 50 km/31 miles)
You bike along the river Glan, pass again lake Ossiacher See and return to Villach.
Day 8: Villach   Individual departure or extension.
